Rabindra Jayanti Celebrations at Jan Seva

We celebrated the 156th birth anniversary of 'Kabi Guru''(Master of all Poets) Rabindra Nath Tagore in Jan Seva with his poetry, dances and songs, performed by the staff, creche children, special children, students of vocational training, computer education, adult literacy and coordinators. All participants were dressed beautifully in colorful costumes for their respective performances.

We had an Integration program by Amicale and Udaan kids for the dance and song number. Amicale helpers also participated in a dance and performance 3885 and the rest of the caregivers sang "Purano shei diner kotha" melodiously.

Udaan teachers participated in recitation and Ria Sarkar played a song with her mouth organ. Children performed beautiful dances as they were taught the step by their teachers like Ratna Barui, Mira Das, Shefali Dey and Sumitra Dutta Tarafder.

At the end of the cultural program, students of computer science, who have completed their course, received their certificates and were felicitated by Boad Members, Mrs. Shirin Dastur and Mrs. Sarita Dhir, who had graced this occasion. Refreshments which included a cooling raw mango drink and Samosas were served to all who were present for this function.

Nobel Laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore was a Bengali Polymath, who reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian art with contextual modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Author of 'Gitanjali' and its profoundly, sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse, Tagore's poetic songs were viewed as spiritual and mercurial. His elegant prose and magical poetry are most popular among all ages and are also taught to children in schools and colleges!
