SOCIETY FOR INDIAN CHILDREN'S WELFARE also referred to as SICW was born in 1979, the International Year of the Child. We are a non-profit social welfare organisation serving the needs of destitute women and children for over three decades. We are licensed by the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of West Bengal and also as a Fit Institution under the Government of India, Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) Act 2006.

We are also recognised by the Central Adoption Resource Agency (CARA), Government of India to undertake Inter-country adoptions. Over the years we have grown and blossomed into a vibrant and visionary movement dedicated to the betterment and rehabilitation of children and women.

India has more orphans than any other country in the world. SICW has placed more than 2,500 children in loving homes across the world.
