Ms. Jyoti Bhatia​

Chairperson

 

Jyoti joined the SICW family in 1992 as a volunteer in the newly opened vocational training department. She became a Board Member a couple of years later and has served as the Treasurer since then. Her efforts helped bring in Pathways to Children as our valuable partners in our noteworthy Jan Seva Project.​

Mrs. Shirin Y. Dastur

Vice Chairperson

 

Her association with SICW goes back to 1984 and her dedication and commitment has greatly contributed to the growth of our Organisation. She has also served as Chairperson of SICW for several years. She spearheads the Jan Seva Project, Paediatric Heart, Eye, Thalassemia and Education Projects.

Mr. Pessi Nanabhai Dadina

Treasurer

 

Mr. Pessi Nanabhai Dadina, has joined us as our society's Treasurer. He has specialised in Nuclear Chemical Technology from Imperial College, London, and further specialised in Organic Chemistry at Institute of Science, Nagpur University, where he was then lecturer and a research scholar. Presently, Mr. Dadina is Chairman and Managing Director of KND Engineering Technologies Limited and director of several associated companies.


As the husband of our founder, Late Dr. Zarin P. Dadina, he has been an active supporter of our society from the very beginning and is keenly involved in its functioning.

Mrs. Sheela Adige

Secretary

 

Sheela joined SICW in 1990 as a Social Worker at the adoption desk and in these 30 years has helped many a child make the transition from our Children’s Home to their forever families. Her expertise in this field is well known and her responsibilities also include liaisoning with the Government. She has put her passion for the creative arts in many a project undertaken by SICW.

Mrs. Sarita Dhir

Member

 

Sarita joined SICW in 2001 as a Volunteer and in 2008 was inducted as a Board Member.

She is the Honorary Program Administrator of the Special Needs Section working with rehabilitation of orphan and challenged children. She is also the Administrator of the UDAAN program at Jan Seva, where she works with the challenged children from the community. Sarita’s diverse interests and holistic experience make her a great asset to SICW.

Dr. Janak Hartnett

Member

 

A Gynecologist by profession; Dr. Janak Hartnett has served for over three decades in key positions at the Assembly of God Hospital which includes, being the Assistant to the Executive Director.

 

Her compassion and empathy for the less privileged in society is well known and has won her many hearts amongst the patients in our Jan Seva Centre.​

Ms. Alpana Kumar

After spending more than two decades as an English Language Teacher at Ashok Hall Group of Schools, which is among one of Kolkata's leading Educational Institutions, Ms. Alpana Kumar found her true calling and joined SICW in 2006. Since then there has been no looking back.

As the Administrator for the children at our Home, she has been the backbone of the smooth running of operations concerning the children and staff. Her love for the little ones always has her calling on the Management and donors to provide more toys, books and other items to ensure that our children have a happy environment and the best possible access to  learning and development in their early years.

She has a keen interest in gardening  music and books.
