OUR WORK

To counter the huge inequity in one of the deprived cities of the world, SICW recognised that it would not be adequate to just be an adoption centre. But to be seven NGOs in one.

Adoption centre. Home. School. Nursing home. Counselling centre. Vocational centre. Refuge.

For underprivileged, destitute, abandoned, orphaned and special children and for young adults.

SICW’s adoption programme is caring and comprehensive.

SICW provides a structured and professional program to address the needs of children with special needs, supported by Hope Foundation Kolkata and guided by Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy.

The LEELA MEDICAL CLINIC was launched in 2012 at our Beckbagan premises with a desire to provide medical assistance to underprivileged women & children.

This Project is sponsored by Sabena Puri in memory of her loving grandmother Mrs. Leela Nath.

This is yet to reopen post the pandemic.

SICW started an educational sponsorship program in 1985 with the aim to educate underprivileged children with the help of sponsors from various walks of life. The children sponsored in the program are from primary to graduation level.

Our Pedeatric Heart Surgery Project was set up to provide monetary help, guidance and counselling to parents whose children have been detected with a cardiac problem.

The new Jan Seva Centre was created in January 2012 as a modern facility providing health, primary education, vocational training, adult education, computer programmes, creche for children with special needs and support system requirements of the immediate slum areas spanning Tiljala and Kasba.
