On 30th July 2025, Jan Seva came together to commemorate the 110th birth anniversary of Late Prity Lata Guha, the revered mother of Mr. Indranath Guha. Fondly remembered as the Founding Trustee of the South Point Education Society and Secretary of the Satikanta Guha Foundation (established in September 1991 in memory of Late Satikanta Guha), she dedicated her life to the cause of education.
Late Prity Lata Guha firmly believed that education is a powerful tool for transforming lives. Her vision and determination laid the foundation for nurturing young minds and building a brighter tomorrow—values that continue to guide the institution today.
The commemorative program was graced by Mrs. Jyoti Bhatia (Chairperson, SICW), Mrs. Shirin Dastur (Vice Chairperson), Mrs. Sheela Adige (Secretary), along with Board Members Mrs. Sarita Dhir, Dr. Janak Hartnett, and Ms. Alpana Kumar.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Mrs. Haimanti Mitra (daughter of Mr. Indranath Guha) and Miss Ambika Mitra (granddaughter) traveled from abroad to join the event. They generously presented gift packs for each child of Jan Seva, lovingly commemorating the birth anniversary of Late Prity Lata Guha. These hampers, filled with noodles, biscuits, toffees, and essential stationery items, brought immense joy to the children of both ECCEC and Udaan. They were accompanied by Mrs. Mahua Dasgupta, a founding member of the Satikanta Guha Foundation.
The program was smoothly coordinated by Mrs. Twisha Ganguli and Mrs. Anindita Sengupta, the Project Coordinators. It concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mrs. Jyoti Bhatia, followed by a warm high tea.
Although the older children were engaged with their first terminal assessments, the youngest members of Jan Seva took center stage. With enthusiasm and innocence, they delighted the guests with a welcome song and a short dance performance—a heartwarming tribute to the spirit of the day.
