An Officer And A Gentleman Comes Calling
Respected Mam,
Thank you so much for your assistance in building my career. You really came through proving what it means to be a real mentor. The efforts you put in and the guidance you gave was really incredible.
I was sponsored from 2007 when I was studying in KHALSA ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL in class IX. In 2008 I gave my X Board Exam in which I secured 80% and got admitted in NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. In 2010 I gave my Class XII Board Exams and scored 77%. I got admission in South City College Accounts Honours. Meanwhile my father passed away on 13 Nov 2010.
I joined Indian Air Force in Jun 2011 as an Airman and after 9 months training in Belgaum Karnataka and got posted to Jammu. There I took admission in IGNOU for completing my graduation. Meanwhile I came to know about exams for becoming commissioned officer in Army.
I used to take out time from my duty hours to study for it. I cleared the written as well as the interview in mar 2014. Again I left IGNOU after 2 years and joined INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY Dehradun in July 2014.
During these 4 years of training in IMA life was not easy. No phone's were allowed; limited sleep and rigorous training both mental and physical. Life was like a train running from station to station with no diversions. In these 4 years I got a bachelor's degree from JNU and a master's diploma from Garhwal University.
All this was not possible without the help and guidance SICW gave to complete my education.
Thanking you
Yours sincerely
Lt. Manoj Shaw
Indian Army
It's lovely when we have one of our Children who we have sponsored visiting us as a young successful adult.
Lt. Manoj Shaw who has completed his training in Indian Military Academy as commissioned officer and his first posting is in Jalandar.
His family approached us for education support in 2007 and with sponsorship from Hope Foundation he was supported for 7 years.
He is the first sponsored boy who has joined the army from our Education Sponsorship Program.
SICW is proud of his achievement and wish him all the best in his Service to the Nation.
