The year 2026 began on a truly joyful and colourful note as the children of Jan Seva participated in a vibrant Winter Carnival organised by the Regional Grand Lodge of Eastern India (RGLEI) at the historic Freemasons Hall.
Centrally located on Park Street—between the Park Hotel and Karnani Mansion—the venue provided the perfect winter ambience, where children could relax, play, and soak in the warmth of the gentle sunshine.
On Wednesday, 14th January 2026, children from both the ECCEC and Udaan programs of Jan Seva set out for this memorable day outing. A total of 127 children, including 21 specially abled children, participated in the event. Their excitement was infectious as they eagerly explored a variety of fun-filled activities such as bouncy castles, trampolines, and other inflatable play zones, filling the space with laughter and cheer.
One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the outdoor lunch. Eating outside their creche premises was a thrilling experience for the children, who proudly promised to finish their food boxes independently—a promise they happily kept. The specially abled children too enjoyed their meals with equal enthusiasm. Burgers and sandwiches emerged as clear favourites, much loved by all. Thoughtfully prepared and sumptuous food boxes were provided to both children and staff members, ensuring everyone felt cared for.
Adding to the joy, each child received a gift pouch containing a colouring booklet and a set of crayons, personally handed over by the RGLEI Board Members. The members warmly interacted with the children, taking time to understand their backgrounds and the social challenges they face, making the experience deeply meaningful and memorable.
After a day brimming with play, laughter, and unforgettable moments, the children boarded their buses and returned safely to Jan Seva—with smiling faces, tired feet, and joyful hearts.
The event was graciously attended by esteemed members of the RGLEI Board, including Parvez Serosh Kaikobad, Regional Grand Master; Anil Khullar, Regional Grand Secretary; and Amarendra Banerjee, Deputy Regional Grand Master. Other notable attendees included Sundeep Kumar Jalan and Sundeep Mukherjee, whose warm presence added great significance to this beautiful occasion.
The Winter Carnival was not just a day of fun—it was a celebration of care, inclusion, and new beginnings, setting a hopeful and happy tone for the year ahead for the children of Jan Seva.
