In a world increasingly reliant on digital platforms, understanding cybersecurity is no longer optional—it's essential. With this in mind, Jan Seva, in collaboration with the NIIT Foundation, New Delhi, organized a Cyber Awareness Workshop under the Cyber Suraksha program on June 19th, 2025 (Thursday). The session was held online and hosted at the Jan Seva Program Hall (Ground Floor), drawing the active participation of 45 learners.

The workshop was specially designed for Adult Students enrolled in our Vocational Training Program, Computer Literacy Program, and Adult Literacy Program. A significant number of participants were young women—many of whom use smartphones extensively for business, work, or learning. The session provided them with critical skills and knowledge to identify, prevent, and respond to cyber threats in today’s digital environment.

Why Cyber Awareness Matters

With rising instances of cybercrime and online fraud, equipping individuals—especially adult learners—with the right tools to navigate the internet safely is crucial. For many attendees, the workshop served as their first structured exposure to digital security practices. As mobile devices become primary access points to the internet, the potential for vulnerability increases. This initiative was a timely and much-needed intervention.

Program Highlights

  • Instructor-Led Training: A 2-hour live online session delivered practical guidance and real-world tips to help participants protect their digital identities.

  • Self-Paced Learning: In addition to the live session, participants received access to a 2-hour self-paced course, allowing them to continue learning at their convenience.

Key Benefits for Participants

  • Heightened awareness of common cyber threats and scams

  • Strengthened skills to safeguard personal and institutional data

  • A clearer understanding of the legal and ethical aspects of online behavior

  • An E-Certificate awarded by the NIIT Foundation upon successful completion
